Development with Data Science (DDSc.) Network of Researchers

INVITATION TO JOIN THE NETWORK

DDSC RESEARCHERS' NETWORK

Application Deadline: NA

Background

The world is in urgent need of entrepreneurial and critical researchers. For instance, a vital part of the world's problems today is a mainstream message of social science and humanities research. Research commentary and publications have become complicit in a plutocratic globalist human-subjugating agenda. There is an urgent need to execute a just agenda and push back against this tide of conformist reductionist research and research practice. Yet a critical mass of researchers working in this direction, especially in unison, can be difficult to find. Built on the work of Dumisani Z. Moyo (a critical and entrepreneurial researcher himself - see www.dumisanizmoyo.org), Development with Data Science (DDSc) is a rather broad concept framed to espouse this entrepreneurial research agenda. Initial examples of what qualifies as DDSc is thus the work published on this website; and which will be elaborated further in due course. Dumisani, however, realises that there would be other researchers who share similar philosophical and sentimental positions, and would be interested in collaborating with him and other like-minded persons. To this end, DDSc is officially inaugurating a global network of researchers and research excellence. It will principally serve as a hub, a forum for exchanges, collaborations and building partnerships. Adjunct to this network is a mentorship scheme that will seek to draw on the experiences in the network to shape upcoming, young researchers who seek or wish to thrive as entrepreneurial and critical researchers. Mentees will be directly mentored by Dumisani and network members. Concepts to be covered during the mentorship will thus include social sciences and humanities research entrepreneurship, and research criticality, with focus on improving lives and livelihoods. Against this background, DDSc is inviting interested persons or individuals to apply to join the researchers' network.

Structure and Duration

Network membership will have an annual subscription, free of charge, renewable based on the member's continued interest and performance.
